Blue Christmas 2025 Resources
At Leeds Sanctuary, we recognise that for many people, Christmas creates complicated emotions.
It can be a very exciting time with opportunities for much joy, but it can also enhance feelings of grief, anxiety and loneliness. Mass celebration at a time when many are unable to celebrate, perhaps due to poverty or war, can also raise feelings of guilt, and holding these emotions together can be overwhelming and exhausting.
We hope that these resources support you as you process the Christmas season this year, and if you have any feedback or thoughts about resources which might be helpful, please do let us know.
Blue Christmas 2025 Service
On Tuesday 09 December, Leeds Sanctuary hosted a Blue Christmas service at The Attic (LS10 1HD).
We recognise that for many people, Christmas creates complicated emotions. Our Blue Christmas service was an opportunity to acknowledge and reflect on these emotions through quiet moments and creativity, with live music from The Songsmiths, followed by mulled wine, hot drinks and mince pies.
Make a donation
We are pleased to be able to offer our Blue Christmas service and resources for free, but we would be grateful if you would consider making a donation or becoming a regular giver to Leeds Sanctuary so that we can run the event again in the future, and continue to create relevant resources.
