Leeds Craftivists: Sustainable Travel

Join the Leeds Craftivists for their monthly meet up. In September learnt about sustainable travel and what that could mean to us. We were joined by Jason Lowe who shared his extensive knowledge about public transport networks.

You can see Jason’s talk here if you couldn’t be with us:

We focused on West Yorkshire and the new West Yorkshire mayor, Tracey Brabin’s campaign promise to bring about joined up mass transit to the area.

The ask is “remember your campaign promise and deliver mass transit so that we don’t need to rely on private vehicle ownership to move around our region”.

The craft was creating an Oyster card style and size (credit card size ish) item which we will send to her with a message on. So perhaps you want to get embroidery stuff ready and be inspired by the talk as to what to put, or you could knit something or draw, paint, cut or stick. Below are a couple of examples.

To write your accompanying letter to Tracy Brabin Jason gives some excellent pointers on what to include in your letter in his video, from 24.45.
