Leeds Craftivists: Biodiversity

Each month the Leeds Craftivists meet on Zoom to learn about a different element of Climate Change. We have a speaker and do a creative action. On Monday 7th June, 7.30-9pm we are learning about and discussing biodiversity. You can register to join us here.

We will be hearing from Catherine Mercer of the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust. She will be sharing her experience of encouraging biodiversity in Yorkshire. As well we will be doing something creative to encourage biodiversity.

The craft

We are making mini ‘no mow’ banners. You will need:
-tetrapack or similar material
-marker pens
-two or three sticks

We are keeping one to put near where we live, one to our local councillor and if you have time one to Anna for our big art piece in the Autumn.

Find you local councillor here. Email or message her on WhatsApp: 07903755995 to find out her address if you’re sending one to her.

Below is the template letter which you can use to write to your councillor, make it personal if possible.

If you want to make a green heart in the meantime here is all the information you will need to do it as an individual or a group:
